For me, design is

surprising —

CEO, Stelton

Member since 2002

Design means everything to me. My living is to bring forward good design after the 10 principles of Good Design created by Dieter Rams – and because of that I constantly think about good design. For me design is something you do to an object, so it becomes innovative, aesthetic, user friendly, honest, long lasting and a pleasure for the eye – it must tickle the design gene.
Design is significant for Denmark and a core competence we must protect, develop and exploit in the competition with others.
How can design make a difference today? Somebody believes it can change the world – I believe it can change a person – surround yourself with good design, and you live longer!
Design is moving in many directions – and we Danes are so naive to believe, that the whole world loves Scandinavian design – Wrong, Scandinavian design is an acquired taste.
