Sara Martinsen is a Danish designer working in the cross field between research, art and design creating edition pieces from natural materials and exploring the potential of regional plants. Aside from investigating materials and their potential Sara advices companies on responsible solutions and is the founder of the digital plant library atwww.phytophilia.dk.

Sara Martinsen allows the materials to take center stage, aiming to increase the presence of plants in our architecture, design and our lives in general. Martinsen is fascinated by plants, nature, and especially the human relationship with nature: how we act, consume, and treat our surroundings. Drawing on artisanal techniques, she conveys the potential of materials always trying to make the responsible solutions look desirable while bringing the natural materials close to us (again).
