Member since 2021

I work as a social entrepreneur, designer, advisor and speaker. In 2016 I founded CARCEL, a social fashion company, set-up to create fair employment and wages for incarcerated women in Thailand and Peru and re-thinking the supply chain of fashion to reduce waste and innovate around the business model. Before that, I co-founded Ruby Cup, a menstrual cup company based out of Nairobi, focusing on tackling period poverty for girls in East Africa.

I have lived and worked in many countries and keywords to my approach to design are inclusive design, de-growth practices, social justice, uplifting women & building new business models for an aspirational and sustainable future that is desirable and dignifying. Tools I value a lot are feminine leadership values, spirituality, deep listening, aspirational communications, positive energy and boots on the ground.

Design is needed now more than ever, from any field and background, to address the world’s challenges by creating solutions that are really desirable and can be a driver of an aspirational sustainable society. Top of my mind currently is big picture design and systems change, and the urgent need of a new notion of well-being that shies away from exploitative growth into coexistence with nature.

Veronica has an executive education in Social Entrepreneurship from INSEAD Singapore, a Master in International Business and Politics from Copenhagen Business School (CBS), and a specialization in Sustainable Business Operations and Strategies from Columbia Business School and CBS.
