Design is the focal point of my everyday life. My approach to design is holistic and is a way of reaching the core of a solution – regardless of the complexity.
Design is an important part of me as a person and my way of thinking and viewing the world. To me, design is about reason-for-being and making a difference. If a design doesn’t have a positive impact on the world we live in, I don’t think it should be created. I believe that design can make the world a better place to live in. The world is facing huge challenges and there is a need for innovation and sustainable, long-term solutions and design.
Designer and creative director Thomas Lykke is a strong believer in “reason for being”. He has a drive and passion for creating products and experiences that harbour an inner sense of necessity and offer enduring quality. His profound understanding of the personality of a brand, his human approach and his insatiable curiosity has taken him far – from creating the interiors of Michelin-starred restaurants to aspirational objects that have earned their place in the permanent collections of the V&A in London and Musée des Arts Decoratifs in Paris.
