Vibeke Windeløv is a Danish film producer. Since 1992 she has produced films for Zentropa, including films by Lars von Trier. In 2011 she founded her own production company, Windeløv Lassen, along with the young film school trained producer Stinna Lassen. Vibeke Windeløv joined in 2015 as director of the Betty Nansen Theatre and together with the Swedish theater director Stefan Larsson theater’s top management.
Vibeke Windeløv majored in psychology in Denmark and the United States. Her film career began in 1975 after she had helped her husband, Per Kirkeby, by providing extras for the film Normans. Then Anders Sandberg hired her as production manager of the zodiac films ‘In the sign of Leo’ (1976) and ‘Agent 69 Jensen in the sign of Scorpio’ (1977) and after that she has been involved in several movies.

Windeløv has also sat on the jury at different festivals, including international film festivals in Venice and Montreal as well as the Sundance Film Festival in the US. She sits on several boards, including European Film Bond, The Film Station and Danish Design Centre. She is also appointed by the Minister of Culture as a member of the School Council of the Danish Academy of Fine Arts and founded in 2008, Refugees United, helping refugees to find missing family members and friends.
Windeløv has been honored with the Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in France and has received the Prix Eurimages in 2008 with Betina Brokemper for their joint efforts to create and promote European cinema.
